I am Sophia Lezizidis, a Division I student-athlete currently competing in my senior season with Western Kentucky University Women’s Soccer while pursuing a degree in Criminology.
Throughout my NCAA Division I career, I have established myself as a proven offensive contributor, versatile player, and leader. During my time at Grambling State University, I was named the 2025 SWAC Pre-Season Offensive Player of the Year, Team Captain, and Grambling Soccer MVP, while also earning All-Conference First Team honors and Conference Tournament MVP recognition. Across my collegiate career, I have recorded 22 goals, 18 assists, and 9 game-winning goals, helping lead my teams to success, including the 2023 SWAC Regular Season Championship. I was also recognized early in my collegiate career as an NCAA Freshman Player of the Week.
Beyond the NCAA, I have consistently competed at a high level in the Ontario Premier League (OPL), formerly League1 Ontario, with Railway City FC. After scoring 14 goals in just 11 matches during my debut season in 2025, I followed that performance with another outstanding campaign in 2026, recording 7 goals and numerous assists while helping Railway City FC achieve one of the strongest seasons in club history. Competing against some of Ontario’s top talent has continued to elevate my game and prepare me for the next level.
Prior to my collegiate career, I represented BVB Waterloo and Whitecaps London, where I recorded a 19-goal season and earned multiple Team of the Week and Team of the Month selections. My development pathway also included invitations to the Ontario National Development Centre and Ontario Provincial Screening, highlighted by a 24-goal U17 season.
At 5’6″, I have developed into a fast and quick versatile player capable of contributing in multiple positions, including striker, winger, attacking midfielder, fullback, and defensive midfield. I pride myself on my pace, technical ability, vision, composure on the ball, and work ethic. Whether creating scoring opportunities, defending, or adapting to the tactical needs of my team, I embrace every challenge and strive to make a positive impact on every match.
Giving back to the game is equally important to me. During my collegiate career, I have coached youth players in both the United States and Canada, mentoring young athletes while supporting player development programs and helping inspire the next generation of soccer players.
As I continue my senior season at Western Kentucky University, my goal is to help lead WKU to a successful Conference USA campaign, earn a place in the NCAA Tournament, make a deep postseason run, and continue preparing for the opportunity to compete professionally. Every season has strengthened my passion for the game, and I remain committed to continuous improvement, leadership, and competing at the highest level possible.
